  • SERVING INSTRUCTIONS

    Serving Instructions

Our crown cakes are best served at room temperature. Remove the plastic packaging and place on a cutting surface. Then, using a sharp knife, gently cut through the crown cake. Grab a fork, spoon or just use your hands! Our crown cakes are great by themselves, but try adding fruit, cream or a caramel sauce for some added sweetness. For storage, keep in the refrigerator for up to 10 days or store in freezer for up to 5 months.

Since I first began ordering from O & H, I have sent many of their products as gifts, as well as bought them for myself. All are delicious, but this is the one that I have purchased most frequently. You can dress it up or dress it down. It's moist, chocolaty, and just rich enough as it is. HOWEVER, MY favorite way to eat it is to slice it into one inch slices, lay them on their sides in a baking pan, put a generous pat of butter on top of each slice and toast slightly under the broiler to crisp up the edges and melt the butter. You could stop there and be verrry happy. OR you could go a step or two further. Drizzle with a little chocolate syrup (or syrup of your choice) and then finish with a mound of whipped cream! Pure heaven...

I purchased this for Mother's Day for my Mother-in-law..and she LOVES chocolate..since she lives in Vt I did not personally taste this but she was dissappointed over lack of flavor and being VERY dry..but reported that with a LOT of whipped cream or ice cream it was edible [sorta]

Comments about O&H Danish Bakery The Imperial Chocolate Crown Cake:

This house won't eat just anything that's chocolate. THIS little cake is moist, and delicious and not your common Bundt or pound cake. I WE were making it we would add even more chocolate drizzle or sell small containers on the side. It is THE only thing that might improve perfection. As folks say, "Good things DO come in small packages!
